Introduction
The Barú Free Zone is formed according to the Special Fiscal and Customs Regime of Tourist Free Zone and Multimodal Logistic Support, according to Law No. 19 of 2001. It corresponds to a commercial, tourist, industrial logistics and services zone, dedicated to the growth of the Barú region, in the province of Chiriquí. It is located on the border of Panama with Costa Rica, so this privileged position generates commercial benefits throughout the Central American region.
