The Panama Pacific Area constitutes one of the most important State projects in Panama, because it contemplates the development of an international business center, which serves as a magnet for large multinational companies, logistics services, various businesses and industries in general. The fundamental objective of this Economic Area is to attract direct investment of foreign capital and boost the generation of jobs in Panama.
Through this major project, the Republic of Panama promotes the development of activities such as logistics, maritime and airport services, high technology, call centers, shared services, among others, by offering customs, immigration, labor and tax benefits.
Panama Pacifico, as a Special Economic Area, promotes the association of public and private capital for the development of the region, through effective policies with pertinent regulatory frameworks.
These associated entities are: London & Regional Panama and the Panama Pacific Agency, and they are in charge of the development, administration, planning and promotion of the area, the first, and the second deals with the regulation of the activities that are carried out.
Panama Pacifico has a strategic location in the heart of world trade, at the southern entrance of the Panama Canal, on the land of the old Howard air base, after crossing the Bridge of the Americas.
