The geographical position of Panama has allowed the development of its maritime industry and administration of the Canal, in addition to the consolidation of its airport activity. The evolution in the air transport infrastructure in general, has facilitated its consolidation as a multimodal center for Panama, generating an increase in commercial and tourist activities. Panama has one of the most advanced airport infrastructures in all of Latin America, in which Tocumen International Airport stands out as an important connection hub between North and South America. The main facilities of the airline Copa Airlines are located at this airport, the largest Panamanian airline in the country, which has been recognized for the eighth consecutive year as “The most punctual airline in Latin America” according to the aviation data analysis company Cirium. Currently, Tocumen Airport has two runways and thirty-five boarding gates, which allow it to handle an average of more than 400 daily operations (between landings and takeoffs), while it is undergoing an expansion process. without precedents.

Regarding domestic flights, the Panamanian air terminal network includes six international airports, in addition to Tocumen, which add up to 24 landing strips, which facilitates the mobilization of passengers and small volumes of cargo throughout the entire geography of Panama in an easy and with complete security.
